Navigating Success Together
Family Engagement Commitment
At COMPASS Academy, we believe student success is strongest when schools and families work together as partners. Research consistently shows that meaningful family engagement improves academic achievement, behavior, attendance, and social-emotional growth. Because of this, active family participation is an essential part of the COMPASS program.
Family Engagement Expectations
To support our students and strengthen the home-school partnership, each family is expected to:
-
Attend Open House at the beginning of the school year.
-
Participate in at least three (3) COMPASS Family Engagement events offered throughout the school year.
-
Participate in at least one (1) Individualized Education Program (IEP) meeting during the school year.
If your family is unable to attend a scheduled event, please contact the school to discuss an alternative engagement opportunity whenever possible.

End-of-Year Cookout
Families, students, and staff come together to celebrate a year of growth, recognize student accomplishments, strengthen relationships, and reflect on the partnerships that contributed to each child's success.
Individualized Education Program (IEP) Meeting (Participation Expected)
In addition to these schoolwide engagement opportunities, each family will participate in at least one IEP meeting during the school year. These meetings provide an opportunity for families and school staff to collaborate, review student progress, celebrate growth, and make educational decisions that support each student's individual needs.
Family Engagement Incentives
To thank families for partnering with us throughout the school year, COMPASS Academy offers the following incentives:
-
🎉 Each family engagement event includes a drawing for a $20 gift card.
-
🎟️ Families earn one entry into the End-of-Year $100 Grand Prize Drawing for every engagement event they attend, including Open House.
-
🏆 One family will be selected to win a $100 gift card at the End-of-Year Cookout.
The more events your family attends, the greater your chances of winning! Families who participate in all five engagement opportunities will receive five entries into the grand prize drawing.
While these incentives are our way of saying thank you, our greatest hope is that every family leaves feeling connected, encouraged, and equipped with practical tools to support their child's success.
Our Commitment
Our goal is not simply attendance—it is meaningful partnership. Every engagement opportunity is intentionally designed to strengthen the connection between home and school, equip families with practical strategies to support learning and behavior, celebrate student success, and build a strong, connected school community.
Together, we can create the consistent support our students need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
